Tim Elliott is an award-winning journalist. He has been published in The Sydney Morning Herald, The Australian Financial Review, The Financial Times and Sunday Times in London.
Tim Elliott’s acclaimed book, Farewell To The Father, was written about his upbringing living with his father who suffered severe mental illness, and died by suicide when Tim was in his teens. Farewell To The Father was published as both a story in The Sydney Morning Herald’s ‘The Good Weekend’, and as a memoir. The story received one of the highest rates of reader response of any article published in the history of paper. He has also published two additional books and appeared as a guest at the Sydney Writers Festival.
Tim helps to illuminate the struggles of mental health in the context of a family home, and sheds light on the impact of the death of a parent by suicide.
