Kerry O’Brien

Kerry O’Brien is one of Australia’s most respected journalists. With six Walkley awards including the Gold Walkley and the Walkley for outstanding leadership in journalism, Kerry is widely renowned for his striking four-part interview series with Paul Keating, and subsequent biography.

Kerry has worked for newspapers, television, as a foreign correspondent and as Gough Whitlam’s press secretary. His tenure at the ABC, for 33 years, involved his work on trail-blazing programs This Day Tonight and Four Corners. He was the editor and presenter of 7:30 for fifteen years, the inaugural presenter of Lateline, and the presenter of Four Corners.

Kerry has a connection to SOS&F, as he lost his brother to suicide.
