David Stavanger is a poet, producer, parent, and former psychologist living on Wodi Wodi Dharawal land. He also spends some of his time as an Artistic Director and producer of MAD Poetry at Red Room Poetry. Most recently, David co-edited Admissions: Voices Within Mental Health and authored Case Notes, which drew on his lived experience of mental ill health and won the 2021 Victorian Premier’s Prize for Poetry. David will read ‘I’ve Been Thinking About Your Birth Lately’, a poem about the emotional intricacies of childbirth, parenting, and memory.
