Lisa Cartledge is a mother or three and an advocate for those bereaved by suicide. Widowed in 2014 after the loss of her husband to suicide, Lisa has also experienced the impact of suicide within her family across generations. This includes the loss of her father in 1986, and her uncle in the mid 1970s, experiences that have shaped her understanding of grief – and suicide grief in particular. Lisa experienced the silence, shame and stigma after her husband’s death and its lasting impact.
Motivated by these losses, Lisa founded Beechworth to Bridge. Inspired by a walk, talk, support approach to healing, Beechworth to Bridge brings people together through shared movement and conversation, creating safe, compassionate spaces for those navigating the grief that follows suicide.
